|Date:||Thursday 7 December 2017|
|Venue:||TD121, TD Building, Hawthorn Campus|
Join us as we mark White Ribbon Day by growing our understanding about how we can all be active bystanders and contributors for reducing family and domestic violence and supporting victims as individuals, and as a university.
Swinburne lecturer and Research Fellow, Dr Angela Spinney, will talk about her experience on the Royal Commission. She will discuss recommendations from the commission on family violence prevention that apply to a university context and on making a real difference at Swinburne.
Andrew J Smith, Vice-President (Students) at Swinburne, will host a panel of experts, including Dr Spinney, to discuss how we can support our students and colleagues at Swinburne and what we can do, as individuals, to contribute to eliminating family and domestic violence.
Panel of speakers
Host: Andrew J Smith – Vice-President (Students)
Rita Cincotta – Vice-President (People and Culture)
Dr Angela Spinney – Lecturer/Research Fellow

Afternoon tea will be provided where gold coin donations will be requested to raise funds for the EDVOS Toy Appeal. This appeal enables victims of family violence to access gifts for their children during times of celebration such as birthdays and Christmas. EDVOS is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a broad range of support and integrated services to the Safer Communities team and the local community.
Registrations close Tuesday 5 December 2017.
