'Effective public speaking' is a 10 hour program, covering three sub-topics:
- Giving oral presentations
- Leading a discussion
- The basic concepts of debating.
This is great opportunity to improve your oral presentation skills, expand your network and meet new people. Plus, students who complete the full program will be presented with a Swinburne University of Technology and Rotary Club Participation Award.
The Learning and Academic Skills (LAS) Centre has partnered with Hawthorn Rotary Club to give students this unique opportunity to practise and improve upon their public speaking skills.
The program will be run by Rotary Club volunteers. The Rotary Club is a not-for-profit organisation, which consists of mostly retired/semi-retired professionals, who support good causes, including education, helping indigenous communities and housing homeless people.
This program is presented by the Learning and Academic Skills (LAS) Centre. Learn more about improving your study and academic skills.
