Panellists

The Australian HR Institute

The Australian HR Institute (AHRI) is the national association representing human resource and people management professionals. We have around 20,000 members from Australia and across the globe.

AHRI sets the professional standard for HR in Australia through HR certification; provides formal education and training services in HR, people management and business skills; produces world-class conferences; and holds seminars and networking opportunities all over Australia – including our biggest annual event – the AHRI National Convention. Each year, AHRI commends excellence in HR practice across Australia through the highly regarded AHRI Awards.

The association sets standards through accreditation of HR qualifications at universities across Australia, conducts research into people management practices, and assists governments in the development of policy and legislation that affects people at work.

Leah Strickland, member of the panel for this event, is a Coordinator of Member Services at the Australian HR Institute. In this role she oversees student and graduate member services as well as running AHRI’s Work Experience Placement Program which pairs organisation members with student members to give them real life HR experience. Leah comes from a background in marketing, not-for-profit fundraising and membership. She has experienced the tough graduate job market herself and is pleased to provide advice to students who are in the same position.
