Career Prospects in Science and Engineering

We examine labour outcomes of science graduates, using data from the Survey of Doctorate Recipients and the NSF Science and Engineering Indicators. We show that career prospects have significantly worsened in a number of fields and we provide an explanation.
About the speaker
Catherine de Fontenay is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne. Her research covers a number of topics in the Economics of Organisation, in particular the organisation of academic science.
