Technology is changing the way we work so how can we ensure people thrive in the digital economy? Join Dr Sean Gallagher, inaugural director of Swinburne’s Centre for the New Workforce, as he dissects the emerging futures of work.
Hear Sean tackle one of the biggest issues facing our time as the inexorable rise of sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) and automation technologies continues to impact all work and jobs.
At the same time, the emergence of digital platforms and vast digital ecosystems will profoundly change how work is organised and rewrite the rules of the economy. Many futures of work are now emerging, unleashing enormous change and opportunity. Workers everywhere will need to adapt, and in doing so, we might realise our peak human potential.
Sean holds a PhD in chemistry studying fullerenes and has worked in the public service, politics and public affairs. He returned to the higher education sector and established University of Sydney's US Studies Centre. Sean has also been a board member of the Australian Synchrotron and co-chaired Twenty10, an LGBTIQA+ organisation for young people. He’s long been involved in helping people reach their full potential.
