The Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship invites you to the next Learning from Entrepreneurs seminar of 2017.
Join us for networking and refreshments before hearing from Wendy Erhart, award winning rural and horticultural entrepreneur. Wendy will talk on how to enjoy the entrepreneurial roller coaster, and how discovering your strengths can accelerate your journey to your business dream.
Wendy Erhart grew up on a rural property in Southern Queensland, developing an appreciation of Australia’s harsh weather conditions that inspired many of her future business endeavours.
In 1983, along with husband Graham, Wendy built Withcott Seedlings Qld while raising two children. Withcott Seedlings Qld is a major commercial supplier of vegetable seedlings, employing 270 staff.
Wendy won the Premier of Queensland Smart Business Award for Agribusiness in 2004, and went on to win the Australian Veuve Clicquot Business Women’s Award in 2006.
Wendy's success has been recognised with appointments to the National Food Industry Council of Australia and many Federal and State committees, including the Queensland Ministerial Board for Workplace Health and Safety.
Wendy’s proudest achievement was being one of the driving forces influencing the Howard government to invest $1.2 billion for rural drought relief, in 2007. Wendy’s passion for policy led to suicide prevention and re-training in the rural population.
Currently, Wendy is semi-retired and still manages three small companies, including Australian Sprint Car and Racing Car teams. She still loves developing her 5-acre garden, and has a passion for archology and heavy machinery operation.
