By successfully completing the Associate Degree in Engineering, you can fast-track your way in to a Bachelor of Engineering course and receive 1.5 years worth of credit.
All you need is:
ENTER score above 60
Units 3 & 4: Minimum study score of:
- 20 in English (any)
- 20 in Mathematical Methods
Why study an Associate Degree in Engineering at Swinburne?

This course has been designed for those interested in problem solving and hands-on practical work. It combines engineering theory with cutting-edge lab work to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to work in the engineering field. You will study twelve undergraduate units, which will give you the theory needed to get out into the workforce, and four vocational units to get you job-ready.
Upon successful completion of the Associate Degree in Engineering, you can fast track your way into a relevant Bachelor of Engineering degree at Swinburne and receive up to 1.5 years worth of credit.
Alternatively, you may prefer to enter the work force as an Engineering Associate. Engineering Associates work in support of professional engineers in a number of areas including mechanical, electrical, civil and structural engineering.
Graduates who go on to work as an Engineering Associate will also have the opportunity to gain accreditation from Engineers Australia.
What is the course structure?
The Associate Degree of Engineering is a University qualification delivered through Swinburne TAFE. As a result you will benefit from the smaller class sizes and more support from the academic staff through more on-campus contact hours.
