PhD Research Area

Topic:

Residual stress and deformation in SPR joints of high strength materials

Objective:

The aim of this project is to develop a hybrid, computer based model which fits into current operating tools in establishing the operating envelope of rivets in SPR joints of high strength materials with respect to their integrity after the joining process and their performance under various service conditions.
