Topics for Potential Research Higher Degree Students
University Scholarship Closing Dates are May 28 and 31 October
The Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Science has internationally recognized research
- in advanced manufacturing and laser technology, through its Industrial Research Institute Swinburne (IRIS),
- in developing new sensors and optical data storage devices, through its Centre for Micro-Photonics (CMP),
- in studying the fundamental states of matter through its Centre for Atom Optics and Ultrafast Spectroscopy (CAOUS).
- in providing multi-disciplinary research in the field of sustainable civil infrastructure through its Centre for Sustainable Infrastructure (CSI).
The centres and other research in fluid mechanics, mathematical modelling, mechatronics, nanotechnology, engineering design, advanced materials and high temperature processing employ over a hundred researchers in the faculty, with many of these researchers interacting with industry through a number of co-operative research centres (CRCs) located in the Faculty.
Students and researchers from around the world are attracted to study and work at Swinburne because of our Faculty's world class research.
