A team of Swinburne students took on the world with robots they built and designed themselves at the International Techfest iNexus Robotics Competition (http://www.techfest.org/competitions/ibots/)
After coming second in an Australia-wide competition, the Swinburne engineering and IT students won the chance to compete in the finals in Mumbai, India. This is the first time Australia has been involved in the competition.
Swinburne robotics team member Martin Nguyen said that the competition is a great opportunity for Australian universities to showcase their excellence in technology.
“This is an incredible opportunity to network with some of Asia's best minds in science and technology, as well as show the world our skills,†he said.
“Since the national competition, we have been working hard to upgrade the speed, functionality and mechanics of our robots to compete at the international level.â€
Techfest has earned the tag of Asia's biggest science and technology festival, where students from different institutions can showcase and exchange their talent, knowledge, skills and experience.
We would like to congratulate the students on their achievement at this prestigious international event.
The team came third place.
