Swinburne PhD Student wins Royal Society of Victoria Postgraduate award

Mahdi Miri Disfani a PhD student from the Centre for Sustainable Infrastructure has won the prestigious Royal Society of Victoria Postgraduate award in the Physical Sciences category for his PhD research in "Sustainable application of Recycled Glass-Biosolids mixtures in roadwork applications".
Mahdi was one of 6 shortlisted doctoral candidates from various Victorian universities who were invited to deliver 20 minute presentations on 17th August to a panel of judges. After much deliberation from a very competitive pool, Mahdi was named the winner of the Physical Sciences category.
The judges and audience were most impressed by the significance, innovation and quality of Mahdi's research as well as his presentation skills. Mahdi received an award, free membership of the society and a $500 cheque in recognition of his excellent postgraduate research works.Links to Mahdi's presentation slides and abstract submitted to the society for consideration appear below.
