New Professional Certificate in Operational Safety Systems
Wednesday, January 11, 2012
With the introduction of Safety Management System (SMS) as CAAPs
SMS-1(0), SMS-2(0), SMS-3(0), and amendments to CAO 82.5, CASA will now
require Air Operator Certificate (AOC) holders and other operational
organisations that require a CASA delegation, to more comprehensively
account for the human and organisational elements of safety within their
operations.
The Swinburne Professional Certificate of Aviation has been designed specifically to help meet the needs of individuals and organisations in achieving these aims.
The program specifically addresses the requirements of of the above CAAPS and therefore has an aviation theme, however the theoretical and practical aspects can be applied to individuals who work in other safety critical industries such as rail, marine and medicine.
This course of study has also been designed for individuals who may be new to tertiary study or perhaps returning to university after a long absence. Units are undertaken by distance education and students are required to have internet access as materials and assessment are provided on-line.
