IOP Fellow Application

Prof Min Gu has been elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Physics; the panel decision was unanimous.
The Institute of Physics is a scientific membership organisation devoted to increasing the understanding and application of physics. It has an extensive worldwide membership (currently over 34,000) and is a leading communicator of physics with all audiences from specialists through government to the general public.
This Fellowship class of membership indicates a very high level of achievement in physics and an outstanding contribution to the profession.
Criteria considered for election to IOP Fellow included:
- His original research, significantly contributing to the advancement of physics, in particular in nano/biophotonics;
- the award of patents, or other formal recognition of inventiveness;
- the award of major research grants;
- outstanding service on national or international professional committees;
- substantial experience in an external examiner capacity.Â
