Free ASI Student Membership Now Available

Thursday, March 25, 2010

The Australian Steel Institute (ASI) is pleased to offer free student membership to eligible students enrolled in Bachelor degrees in engineering, building or architecture at an Australian University.

Part of ASI’s engagement with students are the lectures delivered by ASI State Managers to the schools of architecture, building and engineering in Australian universities. This important work will continue, but will be supported by free and full student member access to the considerable technical resources available in ASI's eLibrary.

An understanding of steel, its capacities, capabilities and properties is considered an essential part of developing a skilled steel design community. This new web-based system has greatly enhanced our ability to deliver appropriate technical information to ASI student members quickly and efficiently and make more accessible the valuable resources of the largest steel technical library in the Southern Hemisphere.

Apart from providing greatly improved access to the ASI Library and Steel Construction journals, the eLibrary contains approximately 1000 digital resources consisting of selected extracts from ASI publications and those from other member organisations, in document, image, AV and 3D model format.
