- additional classes held to support mathematics subjects currently offered
In addition, the new MASH Centre provides
- extra notes and self-paced material on particular topics
- past exam papers and solutions
- text books on mathematical topics
- assignment sheets for all first year mathematics subjects
Equipment
We have an interactive whiteboard, as well as standard whiteboards to be used by students and tutors. There are several tables, and power points and network ports for students to bring their own laptops. An iPad and tablet PCs are available for students to watch screencasts prepared by the tutors and check online material or use computer algebra systems. Tutors use tablet PCs for creating electronic documents in the MASH Centre.
Who can use the new MASH Centre?
The new MASH Centre is a learning space for students studying mathematics, and is open whenever a tutor is present.
We help any Higher Education student studying a first year maths or statistics subject in any course at the Hawthorn Campus. Drop in any time a tutor is present. In some cases, we may be able to help with questions outside material covered in first year subjects.
