CMP students take second place in 2013 CUDOS annual innovation prize

Thursday February 7 2013

Centre for Micro-Photonics (CMP) students Mark Turner, Ben Cumming and Han Lin have been awarded second place in the 2013 CUDOS annual innovation prize. The Centre for Ultrahigh-bandwidth Devices for Optical Systems (CUDOS) innovation prize is awarded annually for the most significant innovations created by CUDOS members.
during the course of the year. It is expected that the innovation will have arisen in the course of normal
work, rather than have been specifically created for the award.

The second placed CMP students developed a business plan throughout 2012 that was submitted to the LES business plan competition, and the 2012 Swinburne Venture Cup where they won the Davis Collison Cave innovation award. The business plan detailed the start up of a 3D laser nano-fabrication service and eventual sales of the fabrication systems.

Congratulation to these students for their excellent achievement.
