Centre for Micro-Photonic adds industrial scale Femtosecond Pharos Laser to its suite of industry capabilities

Tuesday November 25 2014

Researchers at Swinburne's Centre for Micro-Photonics recently completed an industrial linkage project resulting is a licensed patent with laser manufacturer-Altechna Ltd. The project developed ground-breaking results in fast laser texturing of sapphire as well as surface replication for commercial bio-sensing applications. The new Pharos laser system with accurate and fast Aerotech stages is worth more than $500k is now available for projects and experiments in Swinburne’s Nanotechnology cleanroom laboratory in Melbourne.
