Dr Xiangping Li won ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards

Friday November 7 2014

Congratulations to CMP senior research fellow, Dr Xiangping Li who has been awarded Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards (DECRAs) from Australian Research Council (ARC) worth $ 345,000. He will develop 3D opto-magnetic data storage technologies to address the data storage challenges of big data centres.

Dr Li is a senior research fellow at the Centre for Micro-Photonics. His research is focused on information photonics (i-photonics) technology including nanoscopy, ultra-high capacity optical data storage and naked-eye 3D displays. Dr. Li received his PhD degree in optics in 2009. Since then, he joined the Centre for Micro-Photonics at Swinburne as a postdoctor. Dr Li has published over 40 internationally referred journal publications including Nature Photonics, Nature Communications and Scientific Reports. Dr. Li is a recipient of a number of prestigious awards including the Australian Postdoctoral Fellow funded by Australian Research Council in 2011, Swinburne’s Vice Chancellor Award for early career researcher in 2012 and Victoria Fellowship in 2013.
