2009 Student of the year and innovative student awards

The Centre for Micro-Photonics is pleased to congratulate Brendan Chick and Elisa Nicoletti for receiving student of the year and innovative student awards respectively at the 2009 CMP Christmas dinner.

Brendan Chick was awarded the student of the year award and a $1500 cash prize for his outstanding contribution to science via his work on supercontinuum generation and focusing.

Elisa Nicoletti was awarded the innovative student award and a $700 cash prize for innovative research at the frontier of science and technology via her development and utilisation of an innovative procedure for the fabrication of 3D photonic crystals in chalcogenide glass.

These awards are a measure of outstanding research achievement within the Centre and we congratulate both recipients for their achievements.
