Swinburne Optics and Laser Laboratories (SOLL)

The Swinburne Optronics and Laser Laboratories (SOLL) facility is a modern, purpose-built complex situated in the ground floor of the Applied Sciences Building in Burwood Road on Swinburne's Hawthorn Campus.

Applied Sciences Building

SOLL was built as part of a Swinburne strategic initiative in optics and laser research and opened in 1999. It houses more then 50 active researchers in photonics.

The SOLL laboratories house two of Swinburne's research centres:

Centre for Atom Optics and Ultrafast Spectroscopy (CAOUS)

Centre for Micro-Photonics (CMP)

The Centres host nodes of three Australian Research Council funded Centres of Excellence.
