Swinburne Optics and Laser Laboratories (SOLL)

The Swinburne Optronics and Laser Laboratories (SOLL) facility is a modern, purpose-built complex situated in the ground floor of the Applied Sciences Building in Burwood Road on Swinburne's Hawthorn Campus.

Applied Sciences Building

SOLL was built as part of a Swinburne strategic initiative in optics and laser research and opened in 1999. It houses more then 50 active researchers in optical sciences.

The SOLL laboratories house two of Swinburne's research centres:

Centre for Quantum and Optical Science (CQOS)

Centre for Micro-Photonics (CMP)

The Centres have hosted nodes of three Australian Research Council funded Centres of Excellence.
