Bachelor of Aviation (Honours)

The Bachelor of Aviation (Honours) program is designed to provide initial preparation for postgraduate study by research with a focus on developing the research abilities of graduates.

The Honours degree is an additional year following the three year Bachelor of Aviation or Bachelor of Aviation (Management) degree. The program full time and of two semesters duration. The program consists of 100 credit points, of which 50 units (4 units) are coursework units and the remaining 50 credit points is supervised individual research.

The Honours year aims to:
  • Provide high achieving students with an opportunity to deepen their intellectual understanding of aviation
  • Enhance the research literacy of the aviation workforce
  • Provide students with the research and analytical skills associated with high quality research
  • Provide students with the opportunity to undertake in-depth research in a specific area
  • Develop students' communication skills so that they can present their ideas clearly by verbal, written and graphic means
  • Provide students with experience in preparing information for publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • Provide a foundation for further studies to Masters or PhD level.
Students will also be exposed to advanced techniques and knowledge in aviation sciences by means of lectures, seminars, conferences, industry visits and independent investigation.
