The presentation will discuss basic human error and review some of the key challenges facing the development of aviation maintenance human factors programs.
Finally the presenter will discuss safety risk due to error and propose a process for managing (and where possible minimising) errors during safety critical aircraft maintenance.
Rick is the principal consultant at Convergent Safety Pty Ltd, an independent safety consultancy which specialises in safety promotion and training programs across a range of industries.
Rick has qualifications in human factors, safety management and air accident investigation from the USN postgraduate school (USA) and from Cranfield University (UK). He also holds a Masters Degree in Aviation Management and is a graduate of the Singapore Aviation Academy course on integrated safety management systems.
Rick is a member of the Australian Aviation Psychology Association and is the current Vice President of the Australian Society of Air Safety Investigators.
