Communication Design

The Communication Design program produces imaginative designers for careers in graphic design advertising, publishing, publicity, print media, multimedia, planning, strategy and communication design - wherever information is conveyed visually.

Design / Business Double Degree

By choosing to undertake a double degree in design and business, you will have the unique opportunity to explore the creative and practical skills of design while learning the principles of business and management. This will ensure you are well equipped for employment in the creative industry sector, particularly as a design/brand manager or entrepreneur who wishes to start your own studio.

As a double degree student you will benefit from the facilities available at both the Prahran and Lilydale campuses. You may choose to combine the Bachelor of Business with one of the following design degrees: Bachelor of Design (Communication Design), Bachelor of Design (Industrial Design), Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) or the Bachelor of Design (Multimedia Design).

You will also be required to select one of the following business majors: Management, Marketing, Public Relations. Alternatively, you may choose to undertake units from Accounting, Economics, Economics/Finance or Human Resource Management.

The double degree programs consist of one design major, one business major and a cluster of units in core design and business studies. Total student contact hours, including lectures, classes, tutorials, and laboratory sessions, will be approximately 12 hours/week during academic semesters. In stage one all units will be undertaken at the Prahran campus, stage two at Lilydale and Prahran, stage three at Lilydale and stage four at Lilydale and Prahran.
