This workshop is concerned with the experiences that the Faculty of Design provides for doctoral candidates as you become socialized into the community of design academics. It provides: 1) a rationale for the requirement that you undertake the Advanced Design Research Methods and, 2) an overview of the Swinburne graduate attributes for people who earn the title ‘doctor’. We anticipate that if you understand the socialization process any perceptions that you may have that the demands of the Unit conflict with other demands of your program will be alleviated.
