I just started an adult ed. class in Illustrator and the pen tool is
critical and very difficult. This demonstration was very helpful!

Thank you for giving this tutorial. Learning the pen tool is challenging. It is exactly what I needed to complete my homework for my Illustrator class class.

It would be good if this tutorial offered something regarding 'where' you should put anchor points when drawing with the pen tool. The tutor says 'I might add one here' when recreating a wobbly version of the number 2. Why did you put one there? It would have been good if you had a system to follow or suggestions on placement of the anchor points?
If you can place anchor points in the correct position there's not as much need to edit the paths afterwards and it's more efficient to use.
