Jill Holt is the Coordinator of the School of Film and Television, and a lecturer in post-production and editing.
Jill’s professional background is as a film editor, and she has worked extensively on a diverse range of film productions including features and short drama films, documentary and commercials.
Jill has successfully integrated her work as a film editor with her academic career. This year Jill co-edited a feature film titled Like a Dream (yet to be released), and prior to that Dreams for Life, which screened in Melbourne in 2005 and was also exhibited on the international film festival circuit.
Jill has always had a documentary focus in her work, and apart from editing has produced and directed her own documentary projects. Most notably, she produced a series of documentaries for the Victorian Tapestry Workshop. The most recent project titled The Utzon Tapestry, is a video installation at the Sydney Opera House.
Jill has worked as a lecturer in editing and post-production at the Victorian College of the Arts Film School and at Open Channel, before coming to Swinburne to work as a sessional lecturer in Multimedia Design and Film & Television.
After completing a Masters in Multimedia Design at Swinburne University in 2004, Jill now works as a full time lecturer and Coordinator of the Film and Television program.
