Jeff is a lecturer in Film and Television, specialising in cinematography and production. Jeff teaches both film and high definition video production and convenes production classes across the film and television department.

He has worked in the film and television industries, both in Australia and overseas. His documentary film, 'Black Gold, Kindred Spirits', which was screened on ABC TV, won a number of awards, including the Gold Award for documentary at the WorldFest Charleston International Film Festival.

Jeff completed a significant body of research on the subject of Digital Television Broadcasting, encompassing a range of digital technologies such as digital television, interactive television, high definition television, and HDTV content acquisition.  Jeff’s thesis, 'Digital Television Broadcasting: Perspectives on the Future', (2002, 2003) emphasized the importance of high definition to the future of broadcasting and production.  Jeff continues to focus his research energies on these digital technologies.
