Currently completing an MA @ RMIT University

Denis currently divides his time teaching 2nd and 3rd year undergraduates and working with Honours students at the Design Centre.  Swinburne's Design Centre is an in-university design consultancy; responing to real-world industry demands through projects often involving the combined efforts of students from Communication, Industrial, and Multimedia disciplines.

Denis began his career in design working in exhibition design and gradually moved into shop fitting and corporate re-branding jobs. In the 1990s he established his own furniture & lighting business and has since produced an extensive range of architectural lighting products for both domestic and commercial environments.

In parallel with his entrepreneurial activities Denis also taught Interior and Industrial Design at RMIT University.  In the early 2000’s he received a number of awards including ‘Best Small Exhibition’ at DesignEx & an Australian International Design Mark for his 'Poli' lighting range.

Design is a visual language and the more skilled at drawing one is the more eloquent and sophisticated the expression of one’s imagination can be. To be able touch and interact with a product that you have created is immensely satisfying and the pinnacle of the often-lengthy process of product design. Design can also be an act of generosity; the desire to give people beautiful and timeless objects that they will hopefully treasure for many years to come.
