PhD in Architecture and Planning (2009, University of Melbourne), Master of Architecture (2004, University of Melbourne), Bachelor of Architecture (2000, Hanoi Architectural University (HAU)

Phuong received his professional architectural degree from Hanoi Architectural University (B. Arch 2000). He also practiced as an architect in Hanoi before continued his graduate education at Melbourne University Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning with a Masters (2004) then a Ph.D (2009) both in Architecture and Planning. Phuong also worked as a guest lecturer and tutor in both history/theory subjects and design studios while studying at the University of Melbourne.

Dr Dinh's research has been published as journal articles in The Journal of Interior Design (Wiley, Sep 2010); Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticisms(forthcoming, Wiley, 2011) and as a book chapter in the edited book The Aesthetics of Architecture: Philosophical Investigations into the Art of Building(forthcoming, Blackwell, 2011). Phuong's research interests include sense of place, the influences of local culture on architecture and interior design, and vernacular design and changes.
