Professor Lyndon Anderson is the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Design. Lyndon graduated from Kingston University in 1987 with an Honours degree before studying at Central St Martins College of Art and Design where he gained a Master of Arts degree. Lyndon successfully completed his doctorate in 2001. The doctoral research questioned the role of traditional design strategies employed within the new product development process. Lyndon is currently conducting research and managing research within the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) for Wood Innovation. Lyndon supervises several PhD candidates related to the CRC, Professional Doctorate and Masters by Research candidates. He writes for contemporary lifestyle and design related journals. Further areas of research include: Design for an ageing population (Transgenerational Design), Sustainability, New Material and Production Technologies and works collaboratively linking nano-technologies to the creative design process. Lyndon has been successful in gaining tenders to provide a review of design education within school environments, and remains active as a member of industry committees across both furniture design and manufacturing.

In his professional career Lyndon worked as a senior designer and design manager for multidisciplinary design consultancies within Europe before forming an industrial design consultancy specialising in the development of corporate furniture, lighting and consumer products. His work has been exhibited in Milan, London, New York, Amsterdam, Cologne, Dublin, Sydney and Melbourne. Lyndon is a member of the Design Institute of Australia (MDIA).
