Industry Partner/Employer Responsibilities
In addition to understanding your responsibilities, you should also be familiar with the following responsibilities of your employer which are outlined to them in the Industry Placement Handbook for Industry Placement Academic Mentors and Industry Supervisors. This is provided at the commencement of a placement:
It is the responsibility of the host organisation to:
- Help students integrate into the workplace
- Provide general support and supervision
- Ensure the student arranges all aspects of site meetings by
- Attending site meetings with Industry Placement Academic Mentor
- Advising the University of issues or concerns
- Attending mediation/resolution meetings
- Ensuring policies are adhered to in terms of termination
- Providing the university with formal (and informal) feedback on operation of Industry Placement and performance of the student.
- Support the student in undertaking tasks required for Industry Placement assessment
- Ensure professional and personal growth occurs
- Ensure the organisation’s targets are met
