Detailing of Interface Requirements

It is important that all web projects at Swinburne adhere to W3C standards and Swinburne's web style guidelines.

W3C standards:

  • Swinburne has a number of students and staff with disabilities which impact upon their ability to access information via the web.
  • Cross Browser/Platform issues, a standard compliant code is more likely to be portable and perform as expected in multiple browsers/platforms.
  • Code quality and maintainability, the code produced should be written bearing in mind other developers future maintenance.
  • It is encouraged the validation of the html code through W3C validation services, located at: http://validator.w3.org/.
