Student Feedback Survey (SFS)
The Student Feedback Survey (SFS) was introduced in 2009 combining the Student Feedback on Units (SFU) and Student Feedback on Teaching (SFT) into one survey. It is available online to students through their My Swinburne portal during approved survey periods. The relevant Faculties and Schools are responsible for managing units and teaching staff selected for survey in each teaching period. Click here for a list of teaching periods and Faculty staff responsible for survey administration.
Click here for a PowerPoint 2007 presentation on how to access and complete the SFS.

Information for Students
Survey links for your units and teachers will appear in the My Swinburne portal in the portlet called 'My Surveys' at the end of each Teaching Period. You will need to log in to My Swinburne to access the surveys.
Summarised responses from Part A (teaching items) are reported to the staff member named on the survey and the Dean of the relevant Faculty, to be used in the improvement of teaching quality and to provide evidence for teaching awards and promotions applications. You are not able to be identified from these reports unless you directly identify yourself in your comments.
You only need to complete Part B (unit items) of the survey once for each unit. Summarised responses from this section are reported to the convenor of the unit and the Dean of the relevant Faculty. You are not able to be identified from these reports unless you directly identify yourself in your comments.
Please take the time to fill in surveys for each of your teachers, the unit section for each unit, and tell us what you really think about how things are going.
Also, take the time to write constructive comments, particularly where you think we could do better. These comments are used by the Faculties to work out how to improve your units and by academic staff to improve their teaching. You have up to 1000 characters (which is about 100 words) in each of the comment boxes. (This is a limitation of the software - sorry!)
Please note that your responses are confidential and no information is ever passed on that identifies individual students. However, we do ask that you do not include comments which could cause offence.
