Student Feedback on Subjects (SFS)

SFS 2007 Completion Rates

Swinburne developed an online survey system which was used to deliver the SFS in 2007, and most will be used for most other University surveys going forward.

The system was piloted with the Higher Education Student Feedback on Subjects Survey for Semester 1 and Term 2 subjects 2007. These surveys will be opened on Monday 14th May and closed on Monday 25th June.

To assist faculties and subject convenors to maximise the response rate for their subjects, regular updates of completion rates for each subject nominated to be surveyed were uploaded.

We suggested a number of strategies to encourage students to submit surveys.  Including:

  • Taking classes to the library or other computer lab to complete the forms during class time
  • Announcing that the surveys are open and available through the My Swinburne portal link in one or more classes
  • Announcing that the surveys are available at the beginning of exams
  • Posting notices on exam room doors etc.
