RMS assists the University to achieve its strategic goals by continually improving the advise and delivery of information to Swinburne Community

RMS delivers a systematic and consistent management of students and corporate records in a variety of formats in compliance with the Public Records Act 1973, Freedom of Information Act 1982, Information Privacy Act 2000 and other legislation.

Swinburne University has a decentralised corporate records management model in which each area is responsible for creating and maintaining their records in accordance with approved policies and procedures.

Everyone at Swinburne University is responsible for creating records to support their activities, capturing those records into the formal records management system and for protecting records from unauthorised access and destruction

> Systematic transfer to the State Archive of those records that have permanent value

> Scanning of Student Records paperwork
