Swinburne University of Technology is a leading Australian

Flexible Learning and Teaching
Swinburne understands that students often need to balance

a complete spectrum of learning options allowing students
to be flexible in the way they approach their learning. Flexible
course delivery, provides students with greater choice in
terms of where, when and how they learn.
Industry-Based Learning (IBL)
Swinburne was a pioneer of the Industry-Based Learning (IBL)
concept in Australia, which places students directly in industry
for extended periods of time to gain professional experience,
as an integral part of the course structure. In 2002, approximately
530 Swinburne students took part in IBL in over 320 companies.

Internationalisation
Swinburne aims to become known as one Australia's most internationalised
universities. All students are able to gain international
experience through globally focussed curriculum and exposure
to international environments through study tours, visiting
international lecturers and education abroad.
Intersectoral Advantage / Pathways
As an intersectoral university, Swinburne leverages from
its dual TAFE and University structure, by providing students
with an advanced credit transfer (or "pathways")
system.
