Swinburne Centenary 1908 - 2008

Swinburne Centenary

“A Century of Vision”

In 2008, Swinburne celebrates 100 years since its establishment by the Honourable George Swinburne. From humble beginnings as a technical college offering blacksmithing, carpentry and plumbing, Swinburne has grown to become one of Australia’s leading teaching and research universities.

We invite you to celebrate this important milestone in the University’s history. Join us while we showcase our achievements at a number of events in Australia and offshore.

The main purpose of the 2008 Centenary Celebrations is just that - to celebrate - but also to acknowledge the beginnings of a new century and a new vision for Swinburne.

This website contains information for various members of the Swinburne community – including staff, students and alumni
