OH&S Monthly Report

New OH&S Committees

The inaugural meetings of the Robertson, Tranthim and Fryer OHS Committees (named after Swinburne’s first Director appointed in 1908) have all recently been held.

There was much to discuss at these first meetings with manager representatives and health & safety representatives being informed of the responsibilities of each their roles.

The first request asked of OHS committee members was for feedback on:

  • Swinburne’s revised OHS Policy
  • New Swinburne OHS Commitment Statement
  • Revised Issue Resolution Procedure
  • OHS Committees – Terms of Reference document

All Swinburne staff are also being asked to read these documents and if they have any feedback communicate this to the OHS Consultants by Friday 8th April.

Expressions of interest were requested for members to participate in a stakeholder group to discuss the OHS aspects of overseas travel with a view to developing an organisational approach to managing this area of risk.

All members received a show bag which included drink bottle, committee folder, lollies and resuscitation shield.

Minutes of each of the meetings are now available on the OHS Consultation web page.
