What is the my mentor program?
The my Mentor program is a technologically based education and leadership program to help develop women. The my Mentor program includes the most up to date processes for dealing with some of the key business issues faced by women, as well as tools, exercises and information. The program is self-paced and covers 12 core modules. It is delivered via CDs, DVDs and a workbook and is designed to be completed in your own time and at your own pace. Modules focus on topics like leadership, procrastination, taking risks, networking, communication and negotiation.
The my Mentor program was developed by Telstra Business Women of the Year, Maureen Frank, whose company, Emberin, develops the program. Further information on the my Mentor programs can be found on the Emberin website: http://www.emberin.com/
What is the my mentor Women’s Development Program at Swinburne?
The my mentor Women’s Development Program is being delivered at Swinburne via two methods:
- The my mentor program; and
- Facilitated workshops delivered by Julie Warnock, psychologist and change management consultant who specialises in training, consulting and mentoring.
Participants complete the my mentor program in their own time and attend scheduled workshops with the group. As part of the program, participants are encouraged to set up their own networking and buddy groups, have access to an intranet site where they can interact with other participants and receive regular communications and support from HR.
