Question/Comment from Staff Member Response

I am part time. I went in to the EWSS system to delclare that I will be at work on the 20th and got the following error message
"Error! Zero Leave Amount. Check booking for Public Holiday/Weekend or non-rostered day"

What do I do?

This means that you have a roster set up in the HR system. You should email Kristen McKenzie-Chan krmckenzie@swin.edu.au and advise her of your attendance.

Does this agreement include General admin staff in TAFE?

No, General staff in TAFE are covered by the Academic and General Staff Certified Agreement.

This enterprise bargaining round applies only to TAFE Teachers employed under the Multi Employer Certified Agreement (MECA).

Is the proposed 3.25% per annum increase beginning from when our last agreement expired? I hope so or we'll end up behind CPI.
(submitted: 25-Jul-08 15:27:45)

Only the annual quantum for the increases has been put forward by the state government at this stage in the negotiations (3.25%). The current agreement (the MECA) expired on 1 September 2006. It is expected that a new agreement will commence from this date.

How might negotiations affect the salaries of general staff in TAFE? The disparity in wages between us and our Higher Ed counterparts, especially in terms of superannuation, is grossly unfair.

This enterprise bargaining round applies only to TAFE Teachers employed under the Multi Employer Certified Agreement (MECA). General staff salaries are not covered by this certified agreement.

All general staff at Swinburne are covered by the Academic and General Staff Certified Agreement. General staff are paid in accordance with their position classification (HEW level). Positions are classified in accordance with the classification manual and reviewed by a committee.
