Swinburne University of Technology, Academic & General Staff Enterprise Agreement 2009 - Voting Procedure
Further to communication from the Vice Chancellor on Tuesday 8 December advising that the University and NTEU have formally agreed on a new academic and general staff Enterprise Agreement, please find the following information in relation to the voting process:
- Staff have been given 7 days to consider the Agreement. Staff are encouraged to review the details of the agreement as once it is approved it will govern the terms and conditions of employment for academic and general staff covered by the agreement. All staff (excluding TAFE Teachers who are covered by a separate agreement, and staff with terms and conditions governed by an AWA) can vote for the agreement. For the agreement to be approved, a majority of staff who vote (50% plus one) must vote "yes".
- The proposed agreement is available at:

- Voting will be conducted through the University's Employee Web Self Service (EWSS) and will commence at 8.00 am on Thursday 17 December 2009 and close at 2.00 pm on Friday 18 December 2009. Access is only available to staff eligible to vote and arrangements have been made to ensure that employees vote once only. Please Note: TAFE Teaching Staff and staff with terms and conditions of employment governed by an AWA are not eligible to vote.
