    Academic and General Staff Salary Increase

    The current Academic and General Staff Certified Agreement nominally expired on 30 September 2008 but will remain in place until a new agreement is negotiated.  Academic and general staff received a 3% salary increase on 1st September 2008.  There are no future increases contemplated in the current Agreement.

    Given the ongoing review of higher education in Australia and proposed changes to employment law it is unlikely that a new Agreement is going to be reached soon.  Despite this, the University is actively negotiating our next Agreement. It is important that staff are in no way disadvantaged during this process. In view of this and as a continued commitment to staff the University will be paying a 3% salary increase from the first pay period after 1 March 2009 to all eligible academic and general staff covered by the Agreement.
