Operations for Porterage
Facilities and Services offer a light porterage service across all campuses. All porterage requests must come thru the WSM system with 2 working days notice. The services is scheduled for each campus as detailed below:
Hawthorn:
7 am - 4 pm Monday to Friday.
Prahran:
8.30 am - 3 pm Wednesday only, unless by special request.*
Eastern coverage :(Croydon, Lilydale & Wantirna)
8.30 am - 3 pm Thursdays only, unless by special request.*
* Requests for Porterage outside this schedule may incur costs. Where this is the case a cost account code will need to be provided on the Work Request.
Where the request for Porterage is deemed to be outside the porters brief you will be advised and provided with contacts for the University preferred removalists. The costs for the removalists will be the responsibility of the department making the request. Any more than a small utility load would generally trigger the need for a removalist.
NOTE: All filing cabinets, drawer sets etc MUST be empty. All boxes must be well sealed and clearly labelled. Facilities and Services do NOT provide boxes for packing.
Porterage is in high demand around exams and Open Day. Please consider this when planing your need for this service as there may be delays at these times.
