Our StaffAcross the three Centres we have employed staff who have degrees, diplomas, certificates and experience in early childhood. | The Centres are overall managed by an Executive Committee of Management. The Committee is made up of interested parties comprising parents, community representatives from the Shire of Yarra Ranges, City Of Knox and the City of Maroondah, also interested people from the staff of Swinburne University. |
Each Centre is daily managed by a Co-ordinator; Each Co-ordinator manages the daily happenings including, bookings, staffing, fees, contact with families, and all the regulatory areas. Each Centre has a number of rooms where the children are placed based on age; their individual needs and also their development. In-charge of each room is a staff member who holds a Diploma of Children’s Services (Centre Based Care), current Level 2 first Aid certificate and experience in the field. Assisting these staff are child care assistants some of whom have Certificate 3 in Child Care while others have experience in the field. Depending on the age and number of children in a room will depend on the number of assistants. Ratios: 1:5 under 3 years of age, 1:15 over 3 years of age. All our staff participate throughout the year in professional development that is either held in-house and addressed by experienced lecturers in the field or outside in training organisations, such as Community Child care or Lady Gowrie.
