Late Collection of Children
(Review August 2004)Collection of Children Written advice is to be given as to who will collect children from the centre. Should it differ from the person who would normally collect the child or where that person is not listed as an emergency contact or nominated collection person nominated on the child’s enrolment form the written information must be signed by a parent or guardian. Staff must see identification of this person such as a driver’s license, photo ID or student ID card before allowing the child to be taken from the centre. This written information must be given to the Co-ordinator and kept in the child’s records. Parents must sign the letter or in the cases of an emergency telephone the centre and speak to the Co-ordinator or 2IC with full details of the person who will collect their child. On collection of children the attendance book must be signed prior to leaving the Centre with the child. If staff note that this has not been completed staff will telephone you to return to sign the book. Failure to do so will incur a fine.
Delivery of Children On arrival children must be taken into the room where staff are, this ensures that all staff are aware your child has arrived in the centre. Children must not be left in the foyer at any time. It is the responsibility of the adult who brings and collects the child to “sign in” on arrival and complete the attendance book as stated. Attendance books are located outside each room. The front door must be closed to ensure it is locked each time you enter or leave the centre, for the protection of all children. Please adhere to stated times of attendance and notify the Co-ordinator in writing should you require any change to your stated attendance times. By order of Management staff only are permitted to open the door to others. Please do not open the door to other parents or other persons.
Late Collection of Children Where a parent/guardian knows they will be late in collecting their child after the time they have signed in the attendance book, parents are required to phone the Centre to let them know. If a parent/guardian is going to be arriving for pick up after the 6.30pm closure they are required to telephone the Centre. When a parent/guardian does not telephone the Centre then a late fee will be charged as follows. A late fee of $1.00 per minute for the first 15 minutes (a minimum of $15.00) and $2.00 per minute thereafter. Regulations require 2 staff to be in attendance at all times children are present on the premises.
