Chemical Reduction Policy

To assist the well being of children, families, the local community and the environment, Lilydale Community Child Care Inc. Trading as; Swinburne Children’s Centres (Lilydale, Croydon & Wantirna) limits the use of toxic chemicals.

Soap and water are the primary agents used for general purpose cleaning. Disinfectant is on hand for the prevention of cross infection and contamination in regards to illnesses. Milton solution is available for blood spills and the Centre utilizes specific laundry products. All chemicals held at the Centre have material safety data sheets.

At all times the Centre will encourage the use of natural products including vinegar/tea tree oil.

All chemicals are safely stored such as to be accessible to staff but inaccessible to children at all times.
