"The sessions run by Careers and Employment were great also. It was particularly nice to spare an hour every few weeks to concentrate on why I am even going through the whole studying, get some work experience thing. But more importantly they provided me with some key pointers to make the process less daunting, give you a place to start from when applying for jobs and attending interviews. Kind of like performing I guess - just before you go on stage, you read through the script, your words, and the music. Likewise just before you have to do one of the tasks to get a job, having the interview technique notes or the writing the application notes or any of the other notes there to look over helps you to perfect your "act".
So all in all I guess the sessions {including specific IBL employer sessions} were a source of encouragement through the difficulties of getting a job as well as a guidance to help perfect the technique of getting a job. Thank you and the careers team very much for making the process far less daunting and (being) encouraging."

"I attended the interview skills session, which was actually the day before I had an interview... It really was a great session! The lady was friendly as well as funny and there was only about 15 of us, which was a good number. I actually wouldn't recommend changing it at all as she did seem very well prepared and was very interesting. It was also VERY good to receive the handout for future reference."From an Higher Ed student |

"I also attend a Cover Letter workshop and a Resume Writing workshop. These were both excellent, particularly resume writing. I would definitely encourage students to attend both of these sessions." From an Higher Ed student |
