Subject Materials
The Subject Materials service is provided by Swinburne Library to assist staff to make copyright material available online for student access.
Staff submit their list of essential resources for student access to subjectmaterials@swin.edu.au.
Include
- Unit Code(s)
- Instructor name(s)
- Semester X, 20XX
- Week each resource is required
Please include all bibliographic information in your citations, ie author(s), date, parent title, title of article, title or number of chapter, volume and/issue, and page number.
Library staff then ensure all the copyright terms and conditions are properly complied with and issue staff with a URL link to the item which staff can then place in Blackboard.
In this way students can be provided with direct online access to resources through both the Library Search and their subject web page in Blackboard. Staff can also be sure that copyright requirements are being properly complied with.
All staff using learning management systems such as Blackboard are required to use the Subject Materials service to make copyright material available via their subject pages. Staff must not scan copyright material and place it into a learning management system themselves.
