Swinburne Vice-Chancellor, Professor Linda Kristjanson invites you to a celebration of International Women's Day 2012 at Swinburne.
This event seeks to inspire and inform with a panel of outstanding guest speakers. It also provides the opportunity to network with colleagues within the university.

Guest speakers
Heather Catchpole
Heather Catchpole is deputy editor of science magazine Cosmos and freelances as a science content creator. The author of five science books for children that have been published in four languages, Heather has worked as a science journalist at the ABC, as deputy editor of The Australian Geologist and as assistant editor of the Australian Journal of Earth Sciences.Sally McArthur
Sally McArthur is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Director of the Industrial Research Institute Swinburne (IRIS). Sally leads a team of academics focused on the development of materials and surface engineering solutions. Their research spans a range of challenging environments including biological and environmental applications; high temperature and wear resistance materials for aerospace; and lightweight materials and new fabrication techniques for the automotive industry.
Fiona Graham
Fiona Graham has extensive executive-level experience in the public sector with responsibilities for strategic government policy implementation in large, complex service-delivery agencies. She has held senior appointments in the Department of Premier and Cabinet, the Department for Victorian Communities and the Department of Education and Training. Prior to joining Swinburne as Executive Director, School for Sustainable Futures, Fiona was the Director of Skills Funding at Skills Victoria and played a key role in developing the Victorian Government's skills reform agenda.
Sally Eastoe
Sally Eastoe has 20 years' human resource experience including management and executive development roles for major financial institutions such as ANZ, Westpac, Commonwealth Bank and Wesfarmers General Insurance. Sally was appointed Director Human Resources at Swinburne in January 2011, taking accountability for the human resource strategic agenda to build capability aligned to the university's 2020 vision.
