What value our public servants?

Date posted: Friday 17 Jun 2011

As the population increases it becomes harder for public agencies to meet the already stretched demand for services, according to PhD candidate Dustin Halse, from the Democracy and Justice program at Swinburne's Institute for Social Research.

In an opinion piece in The Age newspaper Halse says we need to talk about the value that we place on public servants.

Dustin Halse is a PhD candidate at Swinburne University of Technology. His current research project examines how governmental and institutional forces impact upon the independence of processes of political and social advocacy within the Australian social welfare sector.
